Let’s clear up some misconceptions and remember the whole purpose of homeopathy.
Here are some things that homeopathy is NOT:
Homeopathy is not for the faint of heart.
Homeopathy is not about the quick fix…although it is often a result.
Homeopathy is not about acting more swiftly but in fact more deeply.
Homeopathy is not for the impatient.
There are times you may be amazed at how quickly situations are resolved with homeopathy, however it’s not always the case. When you practice patience and lean into homeopathy, you can rest in knowing that your choice—over antibiotics or conventional treatments—has done no harm.
We have to remember what the goal is. What is your purpose in choosing homeopathy over conventional medicine? Is the goal to get your child back to school in two days? If that is the case, conventional medicine is your answer.
The goal in choosing homeopathy is long-term health. Homeopathy is very much about the long game. This is not to let you down about homeopathy but to offer encouragement. In those tough moments—when symptoms linger and you’re tempted to question the process—know that by choosing homeopathy, you’re investing in deep, lasting health. Homeopathy is working beneath the surface to build true, long-term wellness. And truly—isn’t that the goal?
So whereas homeopathy is about the long game, conventional medicine suppresses symptoms. What conventional medicine is really good at is giving the appearance of health. But when symptoms are just suppressed, that is not true health.
Your child may be back to school, but is he healthy? Whatever was just suppressed will have to come out again or emerge through another avenue. When an acute problem is suppressed, it will become a chronic problem.
Homeopathy can require patience. In fact, homeopathy may actually help you grow in that fruit of the Spirit. Those of us who are Christians should be good at waiting. We have had a lot of practice. Waiting for Jesus to return or waiting for prayers to be answered. There are so many examples of waiting in the Bible. The Israelites waited to be delivered out of Egypt and then waited to enter the Promised Land. The people waited for the long anticipated Messiah to come. Sarah & Hannah waited to become pregnant. In each of these examples, I notice something very important. The waiting was worth it! There was reward in the waiting.
We are in a world that glorifies instant gratification. We have Prime, fast-food, instant answers from the internet, and the list goes on. Conventional medicine has programmed us to become impatient because we see symptoms disappear quickly when in reality what is happening is the illness is being driven deeper into our bodies. It’s like spraying weed killer on a weed rather than pulling it from the root. Think about a migraine. Do you want the migraine to go away just that one time or do you want to be FREED of migraines for good?
Homeopathy is uprooting the cause and not just suppressing the symptoms and therefore it won’t always be the quick fix, but it is the right fix – the deeper fix.
